As many of you know, this last Sunday was Father’s Day!
Each year on the 3rd Sunday of June most United States families celebrate the Fathers in their lives. Did you know Father’s Day originated in Spokane, WA? Spokane’s own Sonora Smart Dodd, one of six children raised by a widower, established the holiday on June 19th, 1910. It was already acknowledged statewide but by 1916 is was recognized as a holiday nationally when President Wilson honored the day!
